Five greatest plays in Trojan history

It's just my opinion, but the following might be the five greatest plays in Trojan history...considering impact and historical significance...(In chronilogical order...)

1. John Baker's field goal v. Notre Dame...1931...broke Irish 26-game win streak and virtually assured SC its second national championship. Over 300,000 greeted SC when it arrived back in Los Angeles the following week.

2. Doyle Nave to Al Kreuger in final minute to win 1939 Rose Bowl over Duke, 7-3. Fourth straight Rose Bowl win for Howard Jones and first points scored on Duke during the entire season.

3. OJ runs 64 yards to immortality v. the Bruins in 1967. SC wins, 21-20, thereby winning the city title, the PAC-10 title, the Rose Bowl bid and ultimately, the National Chapionship.

4. Anthony Davis returns the second half kickoff 102 yards against Notre Dame in 1974, thereby setting off the "Comeback." SC proceded to score 49 unanswered points, erasing a 24-6 deficit before winning, 55-24. Considered the greatest comeback in college FB history.

5. Leinert to Jarrett on fourth and nine v. Notre Dame in 2005. Trojans eventually score with .o3 seconds left, thereby winning 35-31 in South Bend.

Locker gives UW Xmas present...

Jake Loker's desire to return for his senior UW season in 2010 practically insures that Washington will continue its improvement. Loker will be a talented, seasoned QB leading Sark's second UW team...nothing but good news for UDub.

New site for Trojan athletics

Thanks to a wonderful daughter, this site is now up and running with all things pertaining to USC athletics. Having followed SC for 61 seasons, I probably will have a somewhat more "seasoned" viewpoint than many who will post here. Bear with me, with seven decades of life comes...aches and pains and other gifts of nature.

My general feeling about Trojan football at this point in time can be summarized as follows...

First, I doubt that we will (at least over the next decade or two) again see a seven year stretch like Pete Carroll put together. The Trojans did it all, consistently, and without ever padding the schedule with patsies.
Second, although things are not now at their zenith, I expect PC come back in 2010 with fire and brimstone. He is ultra competitive...and for that reason I think SC will bounce back big time.

Hope to hear from followers of SC football. Fight On!!!
